1.1. COVID-19 Information

To Mexico (International In-flights)

You will receive a Health-Form in the aircraft!

At the airport your temperature will be checked and you will walk trought a disifection-gate.

In Mexico (Domestic and outgoing flights) - Not required anymore!

Before you fly... Ask for a Healt-Form (see picture below) at the check-in, print the form below out or >Register here<, is required! Make a printscreen after you filled out the healthform, if you do it online.

For a maximum of 180 days you don`t need a visa. If you stay longer it is necessary to get in contact with the mexican consulate in your country.

NEW since 2021 - When you show them your exit-flight, you will receive just these days (+3) until you exit the country!

Entryfee: 592 MXN by land (Entryfee is included in flighttickets!)

Since mid 2021 there are no posibilities to extend the visas, new restrictions!

1.3 Importants

An exit ticket via land or air must be placed in advance! No entry without an exit ticket!

Medicine: The long flight, the extreme altitude or the time difference, all these factors can steal your soul. From my own experience, I advise everyone to have something for headaches and diarrhea (Imodium and / or Bioflorin) with them. It can take up to 4 days for the body to get used to it. It is best not to go first at over 3000 meters above sea level, take it slowly!

ATMs - There are many ATMs in Mexico, but these have their internal fees when making a withdrawal. The fees are displayed on every machine before withdrawal, so you can still cancel them.

Saving money starts with the withdrawal from the machine.

3.1 Transportation

3.1.1 Order a car

There are many ways to reach your hotel, airport or supermarket.

From top to the botom - Cheapest to more expensive

inDriver - Pay what you`re willing to pay for, it`s really easy. There are much more drivers than in UBER or others. It`s not available for anyone at the App-store, you have to download it as an "apk" google "inDriver apk" and download it!

Cabify - It`s cheaper than all of them, but there is just one to none in your area. It depense on you location.

DiDi - It`s similar to UBER.

UBER - It`s not serious in Mexico, because 30-40% of the drivers cancel their ride if they receive a better offer.

The cars are more expensive or rerary on sunday!

To/From Cancun airport

There are no UBER's anymore in Cancun!

- Taxi to center: 30-40$ / 600-1000MXN

- Bus to center (ADO): 98MXN (every 30min), www.ado.com.mx

3.1.2 Carrental

- If you rent a car, it`s really cheap and don`t worry the mexicans are very friendly.

Fill the tank at every gasstation, because the next one could be very fare away!

- Not every gasstation accept international creditcards, so be sure you have enought US-Dollars or Mexican Pesos with you.

- Highway: At the highway eg. Cancun to Merida (around 16USD), they only accept Mexican Pesos in cash!

Available in the north of Mexico, my favourite.

Nr. 2 Santa Clara Entera

Best taste and is available in every shop

Nr. 3 Alpura Clasico or LALA Entera

Tastes similar and are two of the best and regular milks in Mexico.

The best bacon in town

Bernina, FUD or KIR

Bernina is healthier, but tastes as good as FUD.

KIR is saltier than the FUD, if you like that you have to take that one, but my favourit is the FUD. Both of them getting crusty in the pan.

The best water

Garci Crespo - Available in the north. The only mineral water who contains mineralies. Origin Tehuacan.

Cristal - Natural water.

Peñafiel - Sparkling water.

You can buy them in every shop and in every size from 335ml to 3l (10l - Cristal/22MXN).

Einreise

Bei der Einreise nach Mexiko wird kurz vor der Landung eine Touristenkarte ausgeteilt, welche seriös ausgefüllt werden muss. Die Touristenkarte muss während des Aufenthalts bei sich getragen werden, am Flughafen bei der Rück- bzw. Weiterreise muss diese dann am Zoll abgegeben werden. Wenn diese nicht mehr auffindbar ist, muss diese am Flufhafen gegen eine Gebühr von ca. 50 USD erneuert werden.

Visum

Wenn Sie kürzer als 180 Tage in Mexiko bleben, müssen Sie kein Visum beantragen. Falls Sie jedoch länger im Land bleiben möchten, empfehle ich Ihnen so früh wie möglich das

Mexikanische Konsulat in Ihrem Land zu kontaktieren.

Visa-Anträge bei mehr als 6 Monaten Aufenthalt in Mexiko können hier beantragt werden.

Wichtiges !

Ein Ausreiseticket über Land oder Luft muss vorgewiesen werden! Kein Einlass ohne Ausreiseticket!

Medikamente: Der lange Flug, die extreme Höhe oder die Zeitverschiebung, all diese Faktoren können einem die Seele rauben. Aus eigener Erfahrung rate ich jedem etwas für Kopfweh und Durchfall (Imodium und/oder Bioflorin) dabei zu haben. Es kann bis zu 4 Tage gehen bis sich der Körper daran gewöhnt hat.

Am besten ist es, sich ein ruhiges Örtchen für die ersten Tage zu buchen.

Es gibt viele Geldautomaten in Mexiko, jedoch haben diese ihre internen Gebühren wenn eine Abhebung getätigt wird. Die Gebühren werden an jedem Automaten vor Abhebung angezeigt, somit kann mann diese immer noch stornieren.

Geld sparen beginnt schon bei der Abhebung am Automaten.

Es gibt viele Möglichkeiten, das Hotel, den Flughafen oder den Supermarkt zu erreichen.

Von oben bis unten - Günstig bis teurer

inDriver - Zahlen Sie, wofür Sie bereit sind zu zahlen, es ist wirklich einfach. Es gibt viel mehr Fahrer als bei UBER oder Anderen. Es ist für fast niemanden im App-Store erhältlich, Sie müssen es als "apk" herunterladen, google "inDriver apk" und lade es herunter!

Cabify - Es ist billiger als alle anderen, aber es gibt nur eins zu keinem in Ihrer Nähe. Es hängt von Ihrem Standort ab.

DiDi - Gleicher Aufbau wie UBER.

UBER - In Mexiko ist das nicht ernst, da 30-40% der Fahrer ihre Fahrt absagen, wenn sie ein besseres Angebot erhalten.

Bolt - Nicht immer und überall verfügbar, jedoch sehr günstig.

An Sonntagen sind die Autos sehr rar als auch teuer.

Autovermietung

Ein Auto kann günstig gemietet werden und keine Sorge, die Mexikaner sind sehr freundlich (je nach Region). Füllen Sie den Tank bei jeder Gelegenheit, denn die Nächste könnte nicht mehr erreichbar sein! - Nicht jede Tankstelle akzeptiert internationale Kreditkarten. Stellen Sie also sicher, dass Sie genug US-Dollar oder mexikanische Pesos dabei haben. Auf gewissen Autobahnen/Mautstellen, zB. Cancun nach Merida (ca. 16 USD), werden nur mexikanische Pesos in bar akzeptiert!
