Bocas del Toro (Panama)

Bocas del Toro is a small village on the island "Isla Colon". We came there by plane from Panama City.
In the village there are some restaurants, but also in the hotels outside of the city which are more comfortable and more delicious.
For activities you can find a lot of offices in the city and you can book them also in your hotel. The most booked tour is the boat tour for 30$ they will show you some beautiful places, dolphines, seastars, sloths and beautiful beaches.
We stayed in a hotel at the Playa Bluff, it's about 20min from the village. There are some buses and taxis which are driving to there, but also to the other side of the island. The price for a taxi is 15-20$ and for the public bus ~3$.

Red Frog
Red Frog is a part of Isla Bastimentos. It has a lot of jungle, animals and beaches.
Transportation
To get to the Island you have to take a watertaxi from Bocas del Toro. Some hotels they have their own taxis and if you booked it trought the hotel-chain you could take theirs for less. You can also ask in different hotels like selina for a taxi. A taxi from selina to selina costs 7 USD each and a public taxi about 10 USD.
Sightseeings
At the island you will see monkeys, red frogs, sloths, beaches and sometimes dolphines.
Red Frog Beach
The "Red Frog Beach" is the most beautiful beach at the island, has 3 restaurants and one hotel directly at the beach.
Walkingtour (Red Frog nach Old Banks)
Die "Wanderung" von Red Frog nach Old Banks ist eine sehr schöne und abwechslungsreiche Strecke. Sie geht über Strände und durch den Jungel wo man eine Vielzahl an Tieren wie z.B. farbige Frösche, Spinnen oder Faultieren sehen kann. Die Wanderung dauert ca. 1-1.5h und ist nur bei Gutwetter zu empfehlen, da die Strecke von Red Frog nach Playa Wizzard sehr stürmisch werden kann.
Die Strecke von Playa Wizzard nach Old Banks ist sehr gut gepflegt und mit Kies ausgelegt, sodass diese Strecke immer gut begehbar ist.
Mit dem Wassertaxi kann man dann die Reise nach Red Frog antreten, Kosten 8-10 USD pro Person. Wer noch mehr Abenteuer erleben will und gut im Ausbalancieren ist, kann die Wanderung von Old Banks bishin zum Hotel Eclypse fortsetzen und im hoteleigenen Restaurant den Sonnenuntergang mit einem Drink und/oder Speise geniessen. Das freundliche Personal organisiert dir dann auch gerne ein Wassertaxi nach Hause.
